Well, I won't say much, and it won't be really all that ranty [Edit: It did get kind of ranty. I'm still in a piss poor mood]. I've had a shitty past couple of days, I'm finally starting to come out of the funk from the events that caused it, and maybe I'm just old or tired, but I'm just not going to pay Jarsie much attention.
She gave Simmers Aware well wishes, and I appreciate that from her, but at the same time, it looks and feels as if some people cannot move on. Where Sesert's name shouldn't even be uttered anymore, it's still uttered on the forums. I'm aware that some people are unaware of the events of the past year, but I personally feel that they shouldn't be reiterated *cough*CALLUM*cough* because it's over, and if there's even the smallest hint of him having returned, and being back to his old tricks, I'll simply send an email to his uncle. Plain and simple. If they want to know, tell them on their My Pages, or send them a link to the many blogs that have posted about it. Stop talking about it on the fucking forums already.
I'm definitely not saying bloggers and those on areas outside of the forums shouldn't post about it, my message is mostly for those on the forums. The situation is over. Let's move on from it. FOR EVERYTHING THAT IS HOLY STOP POSTING ABOUT IT ON THE BLOODY FORUMS.
What's sickening and saddening is to hear that going back to "normal" on the forums means going back to the snarky comments, the bullying, the fighting, the general douchebag attitude towards newcomers, and the "let's post about TMN and how they are an awful 'gossip blog.'" Do you idiots even know what the fuck a gossip blog is?
A gossip blog is pure conjecture, usually spreading lies and filth and they usually quote "anonymous sources," and have zero evidence to back up their claims. Star Magazine, Us Magazine, National Enquirer, etc. etc. The Mare's Nest is anything but a gossip blog. For one, they provide evidence via screenshots, and let's remember, that while some of you seem have the right [because the Moderators and Gurus are too busy with their thumbs up their asses to properly moderate] to use the forums that do NOT belong to you for your personal, pitiful, and fucktarded bullying playground, they have just as much of a right [as do I] to call you out for being a lameass sack of shit, and there's no shame in turning the comments off either. I personally leave the comments on on mine, for two reasons:
Guess what? I've been saying this EVER SINCE I started blogging almost TWO fucking years ago. You want to pick fights? You want to be an ass? You want to be a Grumpy Toast? Then you do it on your own turf. The forums are not your battleground. I've had back and forths with people via blogs. I wouldn't comment on their blog, and they wouldn't comment on mine. We had our arguments on our blogs. Big fucking deal. I've had my moments where I've lost my temper on the forums, but 99% of the time, I came right back here and vented it all out. Don't like it? Too fucking bad. I pay for what I use, therefore I will do what I like, as long as it stays within legal bounds, which it DOES.
I've seen a lot of threats about suing for "character defamation," not only with regards to me, but in regards to The Mare's Nest. Guess what? You don't have a fucking legal leg to stand on. Character Defamation is defined as someone posting they know as false, as truth, on purpose, to damage your reputation. The fact that The Mare's Nest provides screenshots to back up their claims shows that they are not posting something they know is false, as truth. For two, if you're going to be a jackass, prepare to be called one. President Obama called Kanye West a jackass after he pulled that shit with Taylor Swift, and that was pretty much the only time I wanted to high five my own President, ok? If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen. You don't like having nasty things said to or about you? Don't do it to others. You get what you give. TURNABOUT IS FAIR PLAY.
The fact that myself, along with other bloggers, along with The Mare's Nest post our OPINIONS [and actually also back them up with screenshots] does not entitle you to legal action for "character defamation." You would actually have to PROVE that we posted something as truth when we knew it was false, only to ruin your reputation. Nobody has done that. You know what we have done? Told you how we felt. We have said, "you're a dick. Shut the fuck up." The judge would laugh you and your lawyer out of court. Now, all of that said, that's strictly US law. I don't know if it's the same across the pond or not.
For example, Peacemaker long ago had talked about going to the police for a post they made. How? They didn't ruin your reputation. They didn't post something they knew was false, as truth. They posted their opinion of you, that they thought you were a dick. Do you not live on planet Earth? There are people who burn our flags in our own country, and as shitty and angry as that makes me, they have the legal right to do so. I don't like people who shove their religion down my throat. They have freedom of religion. I don't like people who spout off stupid bullshit, people who say dumb things. But guess what? They have freedom of speech. So I utilize my own rights to tell them what I think of them. Do they like it? No, but then again, that's my right. We live on Earth. Not everyone is going to like you. You are not going to be everyone's favorite. I have my own share of enemies. Do you think I give a fuck about them and their opinion of me? Have you ever seen me crying and whining about how I'm not liked by some people? No. You know why? Because they simply do not matter. They know my online persona, and that's all they know. They never bothered to get to know me personally, and that's fine. The people who count are the ones I am proud to call friends. The people who count include Zeri, Viddie, Bluebell, and countless others in the Simming community who bothered to take the time. My friends in real life? They matter. My husband and Mother? They matter over everyone else. So when I find all the fucks I give about someone's opinion about me, I'll be sure to post that here [mark the 12th of fucking Never on your calendars!]. So, character defamation? No. Butthurt? Yes.
So, anyone I see picking fights to just pick fights on the forums, to purposefully try to ruin someone for having a differing opinion, to relentlessly and needlessly attack someone who doesn't deserve it, ON A FORUM THAT DOESN'T BELONG TO THEM, I'm not going to associate myself with them. You want to act like a 8 year old who just shit themselves on the playground and have to beat someone up for it, then you do that, but don't expect me to feel sorry for you when myself, other bloggers, and/or The Mare's Nest call you out for it. Don't be a dick, and you won't be "shafted." [Some of you are hopefully too young to get the pun.]
Perhaps some of you "adults" should grow the fuck up and take some personal responsibility for your actions. And if you have any kids? I pity the fact that they will learn zero from you with regards to social graces, whether online or off. Not that I can say much. I'll probably have a bunch of angry little gingers or daywalkers running around spitting fire and wreaking mayhem, because I will teach them that while you must respect others, that you also get what you give, and those who don't respect you, don't deserve respect from you.
You give the real adults online a bad name. Grow the fuck up already. Pick your battles, and fight them away from a place you don't own, or run, or pay for, fucking idiots.
